- As we drive, see a variety of stunning mountain views far from tourists – including the Scenic Rim’s surrounding mountains and farmlands. Learn about the region’s volcanic, Aboriginal and European history.
- Day 1:
- Hang Gliding Lookout with stunning views west over the Scenic Rim.
- Guided eco-walk through Curtis Falls Rainforest Circuit – A sub-tropical oasis with numerous species such as piccabean palms and the superb strangler figs. Includes a walk along a delightful creek and a pretty waterfall & rockpool (scene of the movie ‘Ticket to Paradise’).
- Lunch at a historic hotel with lovely valley views.
- Half hour to stroll through Tamborine’s ‘Gallery Walk’ – a cute Aussie mountain village with arts, crafts, cafes, gifts and wine tastings.
- ‘Eagles Close’ for breathtaking views over the Gold Coast
- Canungra Valley – Drive through the old timber-getting town and along the beautiful valley.
- Time to photograph pretty-faced wallabies and kangaroos on the return drive.
- Day 2:
- Early morning bird walk – Meet the feathered locals around the Retreat with one of O’Reilly’s experienced guides. Popular with twitchers from around the world.
- Get high in the rainforest at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat’s famous treetops walk.
- Feed the colourful native birds – crimson rosellas and king parrots.
- Lunch at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat
- Rock Lookout – Guided eco rainforest walk, passing through sub-tropical rainforest and eucalypt forest. End with breathtaking views over the valleys and distant mountains, and waterfall in distance.
- Kamarun Lookout – Superb 270 degree views to the gorgeous Sarabah Valley, Springbrook and the Scenic Rim. One of Australia’s most wonderful views – a secret most guests miss.
