Discover ‘Brissy’s’ beautiful sights around our winding river. Learn some local history, from the Turrbal and Yuggera people who have lived here at least 22,000 years – to one of Britain’s harshest convict gaols – to now being one of the world’s most liveable cities. Brisbane has a population of almost 2.5 million and will host the Olympic Games in 2032.
- Kangaroo Cliffs – Atop the cliffs overlooking Brisbane River, Brisbane’s downtown & botanical gardens.
- Newfarm Park and the Powerhouse – By Brisbane River with lovely views back to the city.
- Howard-Smith Wharves – descend the quarried cliffs to cafes and a river walk beneath the Story Bridge.
- Botanical Gardens including river mangrove walk.
- As we drive learn about the city’s history, from English prison to modern metropolis.
- Note: As the conference will be at South Bank, the guide will give an overview of what to see there without stopping at South Bank.
